I realized I have not written anything here in ages. It’s mostly been pictures, music and random illustrations I’ve drawn.. though lately there has been none of those either. Have I got nothing to say? Nothing to share with the world about my daily life? Um, more like I don’t want to share too much. People already know what I do and where I go through my Twitter and Facebook pages. Why should they know more? blah. I miss writing. So, let’s just write something random.
These past few weeks have been blah. I don’t know, they have just been long and stressful at times. I didn’t even get to go home and spend time with the family over Thanksgiving. I did spend this time with the best friend. That was awesome. That’s another thing I am thankful for. Having such an amazing friend is one of the best things one can ask for. I could not have asked for a better one. Thanks, Nikki.
How is work, Art? Oh, it’s work. It’s work.
I wish I could draw random things and post them here but, I haven’t been able to. I really need motivation for that. I have not had much motivation in recent times. I live in a city full of artists and artsy things, but for some reason I’ve been lacking this. It is not good. I’ve had a friend’s website on hold for the past, fuck, almost two months! It’s not that I can’t do it, I just haven’t been motivated to finish it. There really shouldn’t be an excuse for this, but I can not finish something unless I really feel like it is the best work I’m doing at the time. Right now, I don’t feel that way. This probably sounds stupid. I don’t know. Maybe work has been sucking up all my creativity and motivation. Maybe doing that for nine hours everyday has become this routine that consumes my life and makes me not want to do anything else when I get home. Sad. I want to draw again. I want to finish my friend’s website. Then I want to design more websites. Then I want to go to Hey Cupcake! and eat all their fucking cupcakes!
So, I had this idea the other day. Since I’m kind of new in town (well, actually been here three months already.. but, hey, you get the point) I thought I’d go around town to different places, venues, restaurants, shops and what not, and take pictures and write about my experiences. It would be like a photo blog with a bit of written content and also have my FourSquare and Twitter linked so that it is updated semi-frequently. I already own the perfect domain name and all. I had this idea. What’s keeping me from actually going through with this? Nothing, really. Laziness, maybe. I told my buddy Ryan about it and he thinks it would be a great thing to do. Even if no one reads it, it would still be something cool and would get me to actually do more things. hmm.. I may start the new year with this project. Cool.
I want to go somewhere random sometime soon. The other day my friend Sarah and I were talking about this traveling adventure. We both just want to get away and go to some place we’ve never been before, somewhere nice. Chicago sounds great. I also want to go back to Portland. Yeah, I said somewhere new but, fuck it, I want to go back to Portland. It’s just so pretty there. Anyway, I’ve never been to Chicago. Kidding, I went once but it was a connecting flight that took longer and I just wandered a bit. But I want to go and explore the city and visit some galleries. It is too cold there right now, though. Anyway, yeah, I will check fares soon.
So, I had an awkward lunch today. The sandwich was delicious, the lady sitting across from me, starring at me for minutes, was not. It wasn’t creepy, just kind of weird. Every time I took a bite off my sammich I felt as if she was observing the every movement coming from my mouth and jaw. Then I would turn back her way and look at her, and she would just smile. Ok, maybe it WAS kind of creepy. I don’t subscribe to that club, lady. :)
Dinner was awesome, though. My dad was in town and we went to dinner. It was good times. Which reminds me, I need to get a BDay present for him soon.
Anyway, Nikki wants to take random pictures of Maggie again. I’m down! So is Maggs. har, har.
